What the code should say

There are two sensible approaches. A code that holds only the asset number works offline and can be read by any scanner, then matched to your register. A code that holds a web address takes anyone with a phone straight to that asset's record, maintenance history or report-a-fault form.

Keep the link stable

If you choose the link option, use a permanent address structure such as yourdomain.co.ke/asset/000123. If the domain changes later, the printed codes will break. We encode exactly what you provide and do not add tracking.

Size and readability

A 40 x 40 mm tag is the smallest we recommend for phone scans at arm's length. Long web addresses create dense codes, so use short links where you can. Wider formats like 60 x 30 mm place the code beside the number.

Batches

Sequential, prefixed or list-based numbering are all supported. Send an example of the exact text so we can encode a sample for you to test on your phone first.
