How an acetone-activated tag works

The tag is an aluminium asset tag, but its adhesive layer stays inactive until acetone is wiped across it. Once activated, the adhesive bonds firmly to the surface. Before that moment the tag can be handled, sorted and positioned without leaving sticky residue on your fingers or the box.

Where this design pays off

Teams who apply thousands of tags in the field prefer it because tags can be carried loose in a bag without sticking together. It also allows a tag to be placed, checked for alignment and only then permanently fixed. Warehouses, IT refresh projects and school inventories are typical users.

Applying it correctly

Clean the surface, wipe the adhesive side with acetone using gloves in a ventilated place, then press the tag on and hold. Test one tag on a hidden spot first. Acetone is flammable, so keep it away from flames and heat. Our activator kit contains wipes and gloves for this step.

Specifications

The tag uses the same aluminium construction, sizes and codes as our standard aluminium tags. The minimum order is 50 pieces.
