Printing directly on solid objects
A UV flatbed printer prints on rigid, flat materials without transfer paper. Ultraviolet lamps cure the ink immediately, so the print is dry as it leaves the machine.
What it can print on
Acrylic, glass, wood, aluminium, ceramic tiles, leather goods, phone cases and many plastics. White ink and clear varnish can be added for depth and gloss effects.
Design considerations
Objects must be flat or slightly curved and fit under the print head. Surfaces that repel ink may need a primer. Metallic and mirror surfaces respond differently from matt ones, so we test the material first.
