Black-and-white interiors keep costs low for text-heavy manuals. Full colour is for photo-rich books and workbooks with diagrams and charts. Uncoated paper is comfortable for reading; coated paper shows photos best.

Choosing binding

Preparing the file

Set page size, margins and a gutter wide enough for binding. Provide a separate cover file with spine width matched to the page count and paper. We can advise on the spine width once you tell us the paper and page count.
