Paper weights
80gsm is normal office bond and works if you print letters on a laser printer. 100gsm feels sturdier and reduces show-through. 120gsm is a premium weight; check that your office printer can feed it before you order in bulk.
Designing for print on top
Leave the body area blank, keep footer details small and within margins, and choose colours light enough that black text remains readable. If staff will print letters on top using inkjet, choose paper that handles inkjet ink well; tell us so we can advise.
Colour choice
Black and white is economical and prints crisply. Full colour lets your logo appear in its true colours, useful for brands with strong colour identity.
