Proof that goods arrived

A signed delivery note protects you from disputes about quantities and dates. The customer signs, keeps a copy, and you retain the original for invoicing.

Layout that helps the driver

Provide a table with columns for item, quantity, condition and remarks, plus space for name, signature, date and vehicle number. Put "Received in good order" near the signature line. Fewer columns are quicker to fill in on a truck bed.

Duplicate or triplicate

Duplicate is enough for simple deliveries. Triplicate lets you give one copy to the customer, one to accounts and one to the driver or storekeeper.

Numbering and sizes

Numbered books make tracking easy. A5 is compact for vans; A4 gives room for long item lists in construction and wholesale.

Order order books when you take sales orders in the field, and set the layout with product and price columns if you use them.
