Prints from your files
Photos feel different on paper than on a screen. Choose a size and finish that suit how the photo will be displayed.
Sizes
4 x 6 and 5 x 7 inch suit albums and frames. 8 x 10 is a common wall size. A4 and A3 are for larger displays.
Paper finish
Gloss gives vivid colour and deep blacks but shows fingerprints and glare. Matt has no glare and looks calm and artistic. Lustre is a semi-gloss finish that resists fingerprints and is popular for portraits and weddings.
File quality
Send the original file, not a screenshot or a WhatsApp-compressed copy, because compressed images lose detail when enlarged. As a rough guide, a 12 megapixel photo prints well up to A3.
Checking colour
Screens vary. Mention if colour accuracy is critical, and we can advise on proofs.
