Non-woven polypropylene is light, strong for its weight and cheap, which is why it is used for supermarket bags, event freebies and school promotions.

Size and handle

Small suits leaflets and gifts. Medium is the everyday shopping size. Large carries groceries or boxes. Short handles are for hand carrying and long handles go over the shoulder.

Print

One-colour print is bold and inexpensive. Full-colour print handles photographs and fine artwork by heat transfer or lamination; the price rises accordingly.

Durability

Non-woven bags handle moderate loads but are not as long-lasting as cotton or canvas. They are water-resistant but not fully waterproof.

Regulation note

Kenya has strict rules on plastic bags, and non-woven bags are usually treated differently from single-use plastic. Check the current rules for your intended use before buying large volumes.
